Diversified is happy to announce that we will be helping ATT increase coverage capacity at Fontana Raceway for NASCAR’s Auto Club 500 on March, 27th. Major events such as this pose a unique challenge to cell carriers as they try to cope with population increases equal to that of a city at a single location overnight. Diversified is going to deploy a completely redesigned COW (Cell-site on Wheels) to the location capable of handling the demand. The COW will have two antennas (each with 5 sectors), seventeen base stations, 7 filters to alleviate interference, and 60 T1’s to handle the large amount of traffic needed. T1’s will be delivered via microwave from a nearby mountain top and when the event complete, equipment will all be removed as quickly as it was set up.
